Hi All!
Zoe
turned 6 years, 4 months old on July 20th and Jameson turned 3 years, 3 months old on July 30th.
A lot has happened since we last updated the site. Zoe finished kindergarten
with flying colors! Her art was chosen to be in a gallery showing. She also won many awards the last week of school
including the prestigous Principal's Award, which honored students who do well in school and are thoughtful and well-behaved
in all they do. Zoe loved Mrs. Layman and was sad to leave her. Zoe kicked off her Summer by finally losing her first
tooth, and then a week later losing her second. She had a great time in Zoo Camp after school was out, and then we spent
11 days in Florida. Zoe was in hog heaven with her Aunt Kelly, cousins Josh and Zach, the beach, and a pool in our backyard.
She is a really strong swimmer now, and she is starting to be a serious fisher-girl! Of course, she still talks about how
she got to stay up after midnight one night on the trip. Since then, she enjoyed our strangely cool summer by learning
to ride a bike, playing a LOT of Barbies, going to parks, and playing with the girls on the street. She had her first sleepover
with Margarite. She also showed her country side at Sunrock Farm camp. She impressed us with her willingness to pet baby chicks,
milk goats, and plant food. She was an expert at the farm after her week there. This was a surprise since she spent most of
her summer in dresses being a girly-girl. Zoe (and Mom) took Suzuki violin lessons this summer. Zoe can hold her bow
and violin well, is good at her Taka-Taka Stop-Stops and is learning 'hot cross buns' now. She doesn't love to practice,
but she wanted more lessons in the fall.
Jameson has been busy as well. He turned three on April 30th with a party at
school and a big Madagascar blowout at home with the Hensleys and James family. Jameson was obsessed with that movie and song.
Before we left for Florida, Jameson said good-bye to P&G daycare and his favorite teacher Kimmy. He was a little sad about
that, but spending time with his cousins and Mimi and Pa helped him a lot. (Aunt Kelly's dog, not so much.) He potty
trained so quickly and so well that the only trouble we had was convincing him that he didn't have to get up all night to
go. He never has accidents! That means that he was ready to start in the threes room at his new school, where he has preschool
two days a week. At home, Jameson is starting to get into pretend play as much as Zoe. He likes to play with his Dora house
or any other playset he can get his hands on. Of course, we're wondering if we should be concerned that there is always a
bad guy, and a lot of times he wants to be the bad guy himself. Probably just a boy thing!
It is hard to believe that Zoe is already back to school now. The summer went
by fast. We greatly enjoyed our trip to Peru Indiana, where we went to a circus parade, amateur circus, and circus museum
along with boating at Lake Missisinewa. You can see pictures of Zoe riding an elephant and camel. The kids said Peru
should be named "Kid Town." We enjoyed the cool summer, although it did make swimming a challenge. When Zoe turns blue,
you know it is cold.
Enjoy the new pictures, and we'll post the end of summer, back-to-school photos
in a while.
